Dear Parents/Guardians
Thank you to everyone who was part of Bergvlam in 2020. It was a strange year that turned everyone’s lives upside down. The most important thing to remember is that we survived it. All glory to our Heavenly Father.
Thank you to every learner, teacher, administrative officer and worker who was part of the Vlammie Family for 2020.
1. Staff
We would like to say farewell to the following two educators who are leaving:

Welcome to the following new educators joining us as from 01/01/2021:

Mr L. Cilliers – Hospitality Studies

2. School fees 2020
The school fees for 2021 will be R22 600.00, as approved at the parent evening of 31 October 2020. We appreciate your attendance thereof. I call on parents to pay school fees on a regular basis. Thank you to everybody who did pay in 2020. Without your contribution, Bergvlam will not be able to continue the quality teaching.
3. D6 Communicator
All the school’s information is passed on to the Communicator. Make sure you download and register the app. You can follow the d6 link on our school website www.bergvlam.co.za
4. Progress report
Please note the following:
Should a ‘C’ symbol appear on the report next to Mathematics, it means that the learner has not passed Maths. He/she has been condoned to the next grade. He/she will however not be allowed to take Maths Academic/Physical Science in the next grade. (As per Department of Education)
5. Personal detail
Should your personal details have changed, please inform the school promptly. It is very important to enable us to contact you for whatever reason.
6. 2021 Tours
Please plan in good time to enable your son/daughter to join these tours. You will receive the necessary arrangements and information from the coaches involved in due course.
7. Disciplinary system
This system has been updated for 2021 according to the latest regulations and legislation. Familiarise yourself with said change. They will be published in the 2021 information booklet.
8. Involvement of parents
I appeal to our parents/guardians to become fully involved in your child’s activities in 2021. Please attend the activities. This will make a significant difference to the success and involvement of your child.
We do not know what 2021 has install for us. As everyone is aware, everything can change within a day. You will be notified immediately as soon as we receive information!
In conclusion, the school will start at 07:30 on 27 January 2021 with the opening on the pavilion.
My sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to Bergvlam’s success. It remains a privilege to be a Vlammie.
