  1. PARENTS EVENING: 25/07

We appeal to you to attend and support the parents evening.  It is vital to talk to your child’s teacher regarding his/her results.  Problems should be identified timeously.

  1. GRADE 9 SUBJECT CHOICE INFORMATION EVENING: 01/08

Your child’s subject choice for Grade 10-12 is of vital importance.  Your child will benefit from making the right choice.  The results of the aptitude test will be explained to you and information regarding possible subjects will be shared.

  1. GRADE 12 PRELIMS AND PAT: 26/08

Your grade 12 learners should already have started preparing for this important exam.  The Practical Assessment Tasks, which accounts for 25% of the year mark, should be completed as per schedule provided by the subject teachers should the required PAT not be handed in, the learner will NOT be allowed to write the examination, as per requirements set by the Department of Education.

  1. SCHOOLFEES AND OUTSTANDING SUBJECT FEES

A big thank you to the parents who pay every month.  The school will not be able to cover all expenses or make any progress without the payment of school fees.  Please pay outstanding textbook and subject fees as soon as possible.

  1. ABSENTEEISM

There are numerous learners still not attending school for no valid reason.  The school will communicate your child’s being absent with you.  Remember to hand in a medical certificate should your child be absent due to a medical reason.

  1. SPORT

Many of our learners excelled during the holiday:

  • Rugby: Bonga Ndlovu –  Man of the Match – Cravenweek o/18
  • Netball: Thando Bhembe – MP u/16 Captain and part of the SA Schools

group

  • Dance: Leandri Botes – gold medals in various disciplines.  She has

been included in the MP team.  Solo dancer – 3rd position in

South Africa.

  • Karate: Danielle Belo – 6 gold medals

Well done to all these learners!

The various sport teams are also doing well.  The u/15 and u/16 hockey girls participated in the Mpumalanga finals.  We are proud of you and your dedication.

The u/16 rugby team are Mpumalanga Champions.  They played against Curro and beat them 46-8.  Well done!

We congratulate the three teams and also wish to thank the coaches for sacrificing their personal time.

  1. CATS

This excellent musical is presented from 15 – 18 July 2019.  What makes this so unique is that it will professionally be performed in our own SCHOOL HALL.  It promises to be an awesome event.  Please come and enjoy it with us and support your child.  Support the school even if your child is not performing.  You will enjoy the musical production.  We are thanking everybody involved for their hard work, dedication and sacrifice.

  1. TERM TEST / EXAM

There will be no exams for Grade 8 – 11.  These learners will, however, write a mini-exam from 04/09 to 20/09 (The day the term ends).  Term tests will be written throughout the term.  These marks will be reflected on the reports.  You will be advised regarding the dates.  Classes as usual before and after the test session!
